This piece immortalizes a fleeting moment from a photography trip in the Rocky Mountains. There, I encountered the Great Gray Owl—the largest of its species—perched with regal poise atop a weathered old stump, its presence a silent symphony of strength and mystery amid the rugged wild.

This bear, often lost in quiet, contemplative thought, also appears as one of the tender nuzzling pair in 'Soul Mates'. A gentle and curious soul, she quickly claimed a special place as one of my favorites. Frequently spotted with her steadfast companion, she roamed the wild expanse of the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary.
